Mariam Foundation has signed an agreement with Yafa Foundation in its biggest collaboration yet in “Mariam Joy” project for daily companionship of children cancer patients in hospitals, where Yafa Foundation has pledged to cover about 65 scholarships for university students to accompany children cancer patients in hospitals.
Mariam Foundation sees the great value of this partnership in encouraging volunteering in this field, and in raising the number of volunteers in the Mariam Joy project, and it would support Mariam Foundation’s work in battling cancer in the Palestinian community.
Mariam Joy project supports hundreds of children cancer patients, especially those who come from Gaza without companions. Mariam Joy offers them the needed daily companionship and becomes their second home in the absence of their parents during treatment, for not receiving entrance clearance with their children.
