Mariam Foundation releases its first children’s story about cancer in the Arab world!
In a special conference held in Father Hugo School in Nazareth, dubbed “New Story” Mariam Foundation launched its first children’s story, attended by a crowd from across the country.
Ruba Warwar, member of Mariam Foundation and media personality hosted the conference through a panel, shedding light on the foundation’s daily work.
Mohammad Hamed, CEO & and founder of Mariam Foundation spoke about the foundation’s daily work in supporting cancer patients and battling cancer, which extends beyond what is visible to the public in projects such as Pink October and The Life Festival.
As a part of her message of awareness and strength, cancer survivor and singer Mouna Miari presented a wonderful piece of music during the conference, and later spoke about her personal experience with cancer. Also participated in the panel is Mariam Ambassador Waleed Abu Sinni, the father of Joul, child cancer patient. Waleed emphasized the importance of emotional support for a child cancer patient, and how Mariam Foundation had a role in supporting his son.
Furthermore, and to shed more light on emotional support for children cancer patients, the panel hosted Mariam Joy’s project coordinator, Marah Jeraisy, and mentor Ahlam Aghbariya who accompanies children in the project’s branch in Ichilov hospital.
At the end, accompanied by the author Dr. Jawdat Eid and the painter Loay Dokhi, Mohammad Hamed unveiled the story, “Nammour, the Little Hero”. Dr. Eid stressed the notion that writing a story for child is not an easy task, using a style of writing dedicated to help the child understand what is happening around him and where he stands, also stressed by the painter Loay Dokhi who drew the paintings for the story in order to help supporting the child’s imagination and conception of his state.
